Buy FishClipper

I recommend this product for people who like to prepare their fishing rods at home. It helps keep your hooks from getting hooked to things in your car causing damage.

Arnoldo E.

I wish I had thought of this.  It sure makes it easy to carry my rods already baited up and ready to use.  I do a lot of salt water fishing as well and love to carry a bass rod with a floating bait or top water on it this product makes it so easy to carry rods with lures already for the use and not have to worry about a tangled mess.

James C.

I carry my rod inside my truck and i get hung up all the time, with the safety clip all hang ups are gone.

Fishclippers Non-Boater / Co-Angler / Back seater tips

Introduction

After being a land lover for a number of years after selling the boat, it is time to get off the shore and back on the water. This year I have joined a fishing club to fish in the Arizona Bass Federation Nation as a Non-Boater. I have been fishing most of my life growing up learning on a Zebco reel, salmon eggs and cheese hooks fishing for trout at the Arizona rim lakes and streams. As you get older you learn from trial and error and from the experiences of others to gain confidence.

Today with the computer revolution changing our world you now can learn just about anything thru videos and youtube posts from Professionals to amatures about fishing. There are product comparisons of new tackle on the market and Pro Anglers pushing their endorsed products trying to persuade you to purchase the ones that will "catch fish". There are so many new products on the market every year that claim to do all the same thing “catch fish” that your head will spin. At a fishing seminar I attended at Bass Pro Shops Johnny Johnson said it best, “don’t forget what you learned as a kid and keep with the basics and you’ll catch fish and I agree..

Tip Number 1

Communicate with your Boater:

1.   If you have time to talk with your boater before launching discuss some items:

a. Ask about how much room is available for your gear and the number of rods to take.

b. Be prepared to minimize your tackle if needed due to storage space

c. Find out if you can bring a cooler or if the boat has a built in cooler.

d. Find out if they pre-fished the lake, how long ago and what they found out if possible. Try and determine how to fish it best and adjust your fishing style and choose your tackle correctly.

e. Discuss if using a net and how to communicate before needing it so you don’t hear the end of it from your boater and ruin your trip.

f.   Find out any strategy for locations that you’re fishing and if there is a plan B or C if plan A doesn’t work.

g. Discuss what time your boat launch is, what time you have to return by and who it watching the time.

h. Find out if your boater is real competitive or just a weekend warrior as this can change your perspective on how you need to perform and what is expected of you.

i.  Discuss any costs for gas, oil, big fish draws etc. and remember your also responsible for any damages you may do to their boat since you’re a guest. Work this all out prior to launching.

Join the Fishclipper effort for clean lakes

Are you concerned about the amount of trash that people litter at your lakes and parks as we are? This year were going to be doing our part and hopefully inspire anglers to clean up after others who are careless about mother earth and help preserve our lakes for future generations. I recently ran across an article in the B.A.S.S. Times that grabbed my attention. B.A.S.S and Recycled Fish formed a conservation partnership designed to provide healthy fisheries and produce bigger bass.

B.A.S.S. Federation Nation state conservation directors and B.A.S.S affiliated clubs worldwide join to help bring to life programs like Recycled Fish 1 Million Stewards initiative. In this program volunteers provide reusable mesh lake cleanup bags packaged with "We are Stewards" booklet which describe everyday ways that anglers can care for the waters even when they are not at the lake. They can even visit a website to report their efforts and earn recognition and prizes. If everyone pitched in on a daily basis this would be a win win for everyone!

For more information research B.A.S.S and visit http://www.recycledfish.org/

Arizona Invasive Species outdoors Top 10 list

What is on the top of the list in Arizona?

- Quagga mussels (dreissena bugensis) and zebra mussels (dreissena polymorpha)  freshwater, bivalve mollusks that have invaded North American waters. Arizona has a law in effect to help fight spread of aquatic invasive species since March 2011. Fishing Anglers and boaters in Arizona voluntarily practice “clean, drain and dry,” along with waiting five days before visiting another lake. Is it working... time will tell.
